Lucie Awards + PDN expo

Hey there!

Not so much into plugging award shows or exhibitions but in the next couple of days, there are two really interesting things to do if you're a photographer or enjoy photography. PDN conference + expo is at the Jacob's Javit's center from 28-30 Oct. There are conferences with professional photographers who do talks on their specialties etc. There's also hundreds of lighting, cameras, digital computers, accessory companies showcasing their goods. B+H+SLE+TK= retouching master class

Hi T+K Bloggers!

Normally, one should post something before the event happens but alas, sometimes the studio gets caught up with studio business and so we are actually posting something that happened after the fact.

The studio had an opportunity to collaborate with Sous Les Etoiles (SLE) a high end retouching studio in NYC at B+H's event space teaching a master class on retouching on January 11th. It was very informative and we all had a great time.

Want to send a shout out to David from B+H and Stephanie and Sophie from SLE. Thanks for the great intro and giving us the opportunity.

Bloggers and the end of a Decade

Greetings TK Bloggers,

It's nearly the end of the year/decade and we wanted to mention how much the fashion biz has changed since 2000. Now one no longer needs to be a fashion editor moving up the ranks at a traditional magazine in order to be invited by the PR houses to sit in the front row at the fashion shows. 20 Jahre Mauerfall 9 November 2009

Hi TK Bloggers.

Normally, this blog is dedicated to fashion photography based images. However, today is a momentous occasion. We are in Berlin and on hand to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall which was accomplished through peaceful means.

There is major excitement in the air here. The program of the "Festival of Freedom" at the Brandenberg Gate includes a concert, heads of state speaking and the falling of dominos set up exactly where the wall stood 20 years ago, symbolically representing the falling of the wall. It's hard to imagine only 20 years ago, east and west Berlin were divided.

Check out a link to the festival http://www.mauerfall09.de/en/portal/9-november.html as well as some iPhone pics of the Brandenberg Gate with Dominos, Check Point Charlie (which was specifically the US entry way to go from West Berlin which was Allied territory and East Berlin which was Russian) today with all of the tourists around and what it looked like in the past with barbed wire and completely empty.
